Purpose
Room Teachers is a language-learning platform built around conversation classes with a teacher powered by artificial intelligence. Using the site makes you a user of it and implies acceptance of these terms.
Terms of use
- You must register with a valid email address and be over 14. Below that age, consent from a parent or guardian is required.
- The account is personal. You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for anything done with it.
- Classes are delivered by an automated system. The teacher is a language model, not a person, and it can be wrong: what happens in a class is practice material, not professional advice or an official certification of your level.
- Using the service for unlawful purposes, attempting to access other people's accounts or interfering with how the platform runs is prohibited.
Credits and payments
The service is paid for in advance through credit packages, spent by the minute of class. Payments are processed by Stripe; this platform stores no card details. Refund terms are set out on the credits page.
Because this is digital content supplied immediately, a user who starts spending their credits accepts that they lose the right of withdrawal over the part already spent, under article 103.m of the Spanish consolidated Consumer Protection Act. Unspent credits are refundable for 14 calendar days after purchase.
Closing your account
You can permanently delete your account at any time from your account, without giving a reason and without asking anyone first.
Intellectual property
The software, the design and the contents of the site belong to its owner. The transcripts and reports produced from a user's classes belong to that user, who may request a copy.
Liability
The service is provided with no guarantee of uninterrupted availability. It depends on external providers (voice processing, payments, hosting) and on the user's own connection. If a class does not go ahead because of a platform failure, the credits reserved for it are refunded in full automatically.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Spanish law. Any dispute falls to the courts where the consumer is domiciled.
